Using Tripshare
By creating an account or using Tripshare, you agree to these terms. You must be able to enter into this agreement where you live, and you are responsible for activity through your account. Keep your sign-in account secure and tell us promptly if you believe it has been used without permission.
Your content
You keep ownership of everything you upload and write. You give Tripshare a non-exclusive permission to store, reproduce, process, format and display it only as needed to operate the service and in the ways you choose — to yourself while you make it, or publicly once you publish.
What you can publish
- Content you have the right to share.
- Nothing that reveals someone else’s private location or images without their consent.
- Nothing unlawful. We may take down a published journey that breaks these terms.
What publishing means
Publishing makes the journey’s selected route, writing and media public at its address. You can unpublish or delete a journey, but copies, screenshots, caches and search indexes made by others may remain outside Tripshare’s control. We may limit, suspend or remove access where reasonably necessary to protect Tripshare, its users or the public, or to comply with law.
Publishing and addresses
A published journey gets its own address. Addresses are first come, first served, some names are reserved, and an address is released only after a deleted journey has been retired for 30 days.
Payment
Publishing costs $39 CAD once per journey. Payment is handled through Stripe Checkout, and the price and any applicable taxes shown at checkout apply to that purchase. Stripe’s terms and privacy policy also apply to your use of its checkout service.
The service
Tripshare is provided as is and may change, be interrupted or become unavailable. We work to keep it available and your journeys safe, but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. We will give reasonable notice of material changes to these terms where we can.
Third-party services
Some parts of Tripshare rely on services provided by others, including Google for sign-in and Stripe for payments. Their terms and policies apply when you use those services; Tripshare is not responsible for services that it does not control.
Reporting a journey
If you believe a published journey infringes your rights, exposes private information, or should be reviewed for another legal reason, email hello@tripshare.ca with the journey’s address and enough detail for us to investigate.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will post the updated version here and change the date at the top of this page. If you do not agree to an updated term, stop using Tripshare.
